Spring school sports and summer leagues are right around the corner. This is the perfect time to start thinking about yearly sports physicals your children will need to participate. A sports physical, also referred to a preparticipation evaluation (PPE) differers from an annual physical in that it focuses on the current health of your child along with medical history to ensure they are physically healthy to play her or his sport.

At Valley View any of our Family Medicine team members can asses your child’s fitness level and determine if there are any risks. Throughout the examination, previous undetected medical issues may come up. This will allow our provider an opportunity to make you and coaches to be aware.  It may also determine a baseline for monitoring other potential health related concerns, such as asthma or female athlete triad. We will also be able to advise on avoiding injuries prone to your child’s health, age or activity.

We are excited that your children are ready to get out and move! Our team is ready to help them stay active and healthy. Walk-ins are accepted at any of our locations or call to schedule an appointment..
