Welcome to Valley View

Please join us in welcoming our Behavioral Health Director,
Flash Phipps, Ph.D., LPCC-S, NCC, to Valley View Health Centers!
2021 marks 30 years of experience working in the field of social work and counseling for Flash and we are so excited to have him with us here at Valley View.
We asked Flash to tell us a little about himself-
I went to high school in Scioto County and sampled them all: I attended Clay, Portsmouth City Schools, Northwest High School as well as Scioto County Joint Vocational School, where I graduated as an Auto Body Repairman. After high school I served six years in the United States Air Force. When I returned home I attended Paramount Beauty Academy. Once I graduated cosmetology school with my Managers Degree, I soon took over the family business and managed our salon business for seven years while I completed my education in the counseling field. I received my Bachelors degree in Social Services from Shawnee State University, my Masters in Education and Social Agency Counseling from the University of Dayton, and my Doctorate in Clinical Christian Counseling and Philosophy from the International Theological Seminary.
I am married and have four beautiful daughters, and a growing number of amazing grandchildren. I attend a local church in Scioto County and try to remain active in community events. I enjoy old hot rods, and virtually all sports. I played high school football at Northwest and coached softball and track for years.
In June of 2020 I came to Valley View with major plans to grow the current Behavioral Health Program, while expanding the array of services available to the local community. I am happy to be closer to home and to be given the opportunity to focus more on local behavioral health and related services.
My specialties include trauma treatment and crisis intervention. My passion is adding special focus to overall wellness, mental health, and fitness, utilizing a truly wholistic approach. The improved telehealth and teletherapy platforms have already immensely improved our ability to reach out and provide services to the local and rural communities. Additional new and wonderful behavioral health programs and services are already in the works, and I can’t wait to share them with you.
